The window
Two forms, changed most Thursdays. Whatever is in the window is on a rack inside within arm's reach of the door, so you never have to ask where the thing you saw is.

The front rack
New arrivals, and they do not stay long. Most pieces come in twos and threes per size, so when it is gone we are usually not getting it again.

Earrings, layering necklaces, a shelf of small gifts. This is where most of the town does its birthday shopping on the way home, and it is why we keep a roll of ribbon behind the counter.

The fitting rooms
Two of them, both with a door that latches and a mirror that is not tilted to flatter. Take three sizes in. Sizes on the floor run XS to 3X.

The sale rack. Last season, broken sizes, and the pieces that were a mistake to buy. Marked on the tag, final sale, and worth checking first if you are the kind of shopper who does.

Coffee, the mercantile, the jeweler and the Hall of Waters are all inside one block, and downtown stays open late on Thursdays.
